Devlog 8: Production Phase 5
We have some exciting updates to share about our game project that my team and I have been working on. We've been busy creating some new features and polishing up some existing ones to make the game even better.
Coding:
For coding we fixed our start screen, now when going left or right you will change the color of your character. And when you go in the game you will be your selected color. Players are not able to have the same color in the game but we added in more colors so the choice is bigger for the players. In the start screen we also added in a countdown sound.
This week we also worked on making the player who passes the bomb untargetable for a certain amount of time. This gives players some free room to run away after passing the bomb. We additionaly changed the pointsystem. Now if a player dies to the bomb all the other players get two points. If a player dies to the boarder all the other players get four points. This prevents players from suiciding to the boarder when getting chased by a player with the bomb. Moreover, we fixed a problem were players would teleport even if they didn't press a button. To make the game feel more responsive we added some additional sounds for the players if they die to the boarder and if they pass the bomb.
Art:
One of our biggest changes is the updated player UI, which is now more intuitive and user-friendly. Players can easily keep track of their points and the bomb timer without interrupting their gameplay or obstructing the play area.
We've also been working on the art for the movable platforms. Another major update we've made is the particle effect for the hover board. This makes the game feel more dynamic
We've also finalized the bomb sprite and added a flickering animation to make it look even more explosive. We've added text to the sprite to provide contrast, making it easier for players to see and avoid.
We've added more art to our tilable platforms, creating a more detailed playing field. We're doing our best to make sure our game's wrestling theme is on point.

We're thrilled with how the level is shaping up, but there's still work to be done. We'll continue to refine and polish the level until it's perfect. We hope you enjoy this sneak peek and stay tuned for more updates!
